It Takes a Community to Stop an Invasive Plant!
Invasive Plant Removal Days are scheduled for Saturday, May 20th (9:00-3:00) and Sunday, May 21st (9:00-1:00) at Sodom Pond, Calais.
Efforts will focus on removal, by cutting back, of invasive Yellow Iris (Iris pseudacorus), which is getting a foothold at the north end on Sodom Pond and threatens the pond's wetland and shoreline habitats, which host an amazing diversity of plants and animals (mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects, etc.).
For more information and to register to volunteer for this event, please contact John Jose @ jjose@ptd.net or 570-445-0173.
