Spring Foraging Workshop at ShareMRV's Garden!

Tender young shoots are emerging, the world is waking up around us, and we can let the sun soak into our skin. Though farmer's crops are just coming up, the natural landscape abounds with tasty wild treats. Perhaps you just see fields and forests, full of emerging life… but might wonder, which of this stuff can I eat? Join us at ShareMRV's Garden, located at Lareau Farm and Forest, for an introduction to spring foraging on Thursday, 5/18! ShareMRV gardener and avid forager Marissa Alfiero will take you through some of their favorite edible wild plants of the season, going over proper ID, sustainable harvest practices, and wonderful ways to prepare these nutritious crops. After months of storage foods, rich wintertime meals, and little in the way of fresh local produce, cleanse your body and boost your energy with the many choice edibles available around us. We'll be sampling preparations such as ramp-nettle pesto, knotweed jam, and roasted burdock root.
