The award-winning Villalobos Brothers are acclaimed as one of today's leading Contemporary Mexican ensembles. Their original compositions and arrangements fuse and celebrate the richness of Mexican folk with jazz and classical music. Wherever they play -- in over 30 states across the USA, Mexico, India, Russia, and Canada as well as at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Latin Grammy Awards, Montreal Jazz Festival and more venues than we have space to mention --, they have delighted audience members and gotten them off their seats and dancing in the aisles.
Their show will be preceded by a 5:00 PM free community potluck in Chandler's Upper Gallery, beverages provided. Please bring a dish, it need not be Mexican, to share with family and friends.
At 6:00 PM, Vermont Humanities Council will lead a free conversation about this year's "Vermont Reads" book: The Most Costly Journey This graphic book illustrates the varied experiences of Mexican farm workers in Vermont. Copies of the book will be available for anyone attending.
Tickets for the 7:30 PM performance can be purchased ahead of time at www.chandler-arts.org or (802) 728-9878, or at the door on Saturday.
Come join us for a thought- and dance-producing evening this Saturday at Chandler.
