On Saturday, May 20, the Starksboro Conservation Commission will host a celebratory event.
Gather at noon at the pavilion at the Cota ball field.
The event will feature:
• Lunch provided by members of the Conservation Commission to thank our many volunteers. You are welcome to just come, or bring a dish to share, as you choose.
• Some, but not all dishes will include wild edibles and delicious invasive species!
• Short presentations to learn what is happening at our conserved land.
• Pollinators in our landscape.
• An inauguration of the medicinal herb trail.
• Demonstrations of techniques for removing invasive species.
• Walking the loop (1.4 miles) to see our new botanical signs and story boards.
• See what we have planted to attract woodcock and golden-winged warblers.
The community – family and friends - is invited. Come learn about the beautiful, conserved land of Starksboro and how to control the invasive plants on your land.
For Saturday lunch, help us Eat the Invaders!
