On Saturday, August 10th from 11 am to 2 pm, Dennis Bergeron, Richmond’s Postmaster, will be at the Round Church to stamp envelopes, postcards, or any other type of document that bears first-class postage with the newly designed, and one-day only, Round Church Bicentennial Pictorial Postmark. Designed by Liam McKenzie of Richmond, this postmark will be a keepsake that commemorates this anniversary year.

To obtain this special postmark, you can do the following:
• In advance of August 10th, send Richmond’s Postmaster, a self-addressed stamped envelope that contains a postcard, envelope and/or a small document that each contains first-class postage. Dennis will cancel the stamp using the new postmark and return it to you in your self-addressed stamped envelope.
• Come to the Round Church on August 10th from 11 – 2. Bring along a postcard, envelope, and/ or other document that contains first-class postage and Dennis will cancel your document using the new postmark.
A few important points to remember:

First, to receive the new postmark on a document it must contain first-class postage.

Second, while Dennis will not be selling stamps, he will be selling postcards and envelopes that have first-class postage. Postcards cost thirty-seven cents and envelopes cost fifty-eight cents. Correct change will be appreciated.

Third, stamped documents will be placed in glassine envelopes for protection and handed back to you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain a once in a lifetime historical document.
