Marvelous May Happenings at Tenney Library, Newbury, Vermont
Tuesday,May 16th at 1:15 pm–4th Annual Poetry Slam featuring Newbury Elementary School Students-hear students read their original poems. All are welcome.
Thursday, May 18 at 6:30pm- former Poet Laureate, Syd Lea will share his poetry with us starting at 6:30pm. Q & A after the reading. All are welcome.
Thursday, May 25th at 6:30pm-Elizabeth Emerson will give a book talk from her newly published Letters From Red Farm. This is the untold story of the friendship between Helen Keller and journalist Edgar Chamberlin (of the Newbury Chamberlins.) Elizabeth has contributed material to the PBS documentary Becoming Helen Keller.
In addition to these special offerings Tenney continues to support our regular group meetings.
Tuesdays- Mindful Meditation is still Zooming at 7:00pm. Contact Proscilla Connolly if you are interested.
First Thursday of every month- Book Discussion group meets at 7:00-8:00pm- Check our website for the current book title.
Every Thursday morning Pins & Needles meets at 9:30-11:3-am to work on hand projects of all sorts.
Scrabble meets whenever the players have the time-sometimes on Thursdays at 6:00pm and sometimes on Saturdays at 2:00pm. Call the library to make sure there will be a game.
Tenney is accessible to all and everyone is always welcome. We have free WiFi and 6 public computers.
ANNUAL BOOK SALE- September 23rd from 9-2:00 pm- We are accepting book donations of books in good condition. We do NOT accept textbooks,abridged books, smelly books or VHS tapes. Please call to check that we are able to be here to receive your books. Please do not leave items without calling ahead. We do appreciate your support for this fund raising effort.
