Take notes! (notes?) Tuesday evening, the 29th, the Incredible Brandon Town Band will play a delightful smorgasbord of music in Central Park, beginning at 7 p.m. There will be something for every music lover - Sousa marches, lovely selections from The Sound of Music, and fine pieces by Holz and Shatakovich. Swinging right along there will be all-that jazzy stuff from the Blues Brothers, the incomparable Ray Charles and even themes from Pixar movies.
This is not your kindergartner's band! The roster includes several area school music masters, professional musicians, youths who have qualified for the all-State band, and some youngsters and oldsters who do their darndest to make good sounds. The director of this all-town, all-age group is Ronald White, a much-esteemed music professional and performer.
Should the weather be too soggy for the park, come with us over to Town Hall. The music will be just as fine.
