Ed Lewis, local farmer, will not be able to speak at the Castleton Historical Society Picnic, this Sunday (the 25th). He will join us on Sunday, October 20th, at 2 PM, at the Higley House. Meanwhile, we are extremely fortunate to have our own trustee Don Thompson present his first 'living history' interpretation of renowned 19th century painter James Hope who lived here and is buried in Hillside Cemetery. Don has also done presentations of Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain, to wide acclaim. All local folks interested in history are invited to join us at 2 PM at the Hubbardton Battlefield. Bring a dish to share, place-setting and a chair. Officers will provide beverages. Questions? Call Holly Hitchcock at 468-5105
