The Brattleboro Concert Choir is returning to Persons Auditorium at Marlboro Music, with a full orchestra and featured soloists, for their Spring concerts on Saturday, May 13 at 7:30pm and Sunday, May 14 (4pm).
"POWER! Music of Defiance and Strength," is a program of inspiring music for choir and orchestra featuring Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass," and "Dixit Dominus" by his long-neglected contemporary Marianne von Martines. It's going to be a show full of ecstatic highs and contemplative lows.
"The Concert Choir is particularly excited for these concerts, since they will be our first performances with full orchestra since January 2020 – over three years ago," says Director Jonathan Harvey. "The two pieces in these concerts are full of emotional hairpin turns, from delight to dread and misery to euphoria. We hope to really take audiences on a journey."
