Free-- Growing Young Gardeners program every Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Vermont Garden Park, 1100 Dorset Street, South Burlington from June 15 to August 17. A different subject will be learned each week -- composting, planting, worms, weeds, pollinators, birds, bugs, harvesting, and more. After snack time, children will create a craft to reinforce what has been experienced. Limited to about 10 children ages 4 to 10. Participation of parents and grandparents is encouraged.

Planting is traditionally around Memorial Day. Because schools won't be closed until mid-June, on Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to noon there will be potato planting and sowing a few seeds.

All vegetables are donated to the South Burlington Food Shelf. The children will learn about sharing with their community.
