Help Paint the Cover Mural!

Past event
May 9, 2023, 8 AM to 7 PM

The COVER building is a historic property that was once a meat processing plant and later a beer-bottling facility for Catamount Brewery. This summer, COVER will finally be making its space more functional by converting old storage areas into an office and woodshop for the home repair team and a used-book store for the public. A well-lit and welcoming bookshop at COVER will encourage pedestrians to explore the north-end of WRJ, where they can enjoy old staples like Big Fatty's and Elixir, or discover new favorites, like River Roost and Putnam's Vineyard.

A community mural is part of COVER's renovation efforts to create a more welcoming walkway along South Main Street. Through landscaping and seating around the mural, the public will be invited to sit and experience the mural up close. The mural is meant to celebrate life and human stories and the inter-connectedness between our stories and sense of place.

How YOU Can Help
With the wall primed, we are ready to start painting on the wall. How exciting!

Assuming that the weather behaves, we are looking forward to starting the painting on Tuesday, May 9th, and continuing through Thursday, May 18th. Painting will be happening from 8 am to 7 pm. On each day, we have multiple 2-hour shifts for folks to choose from and expect up to 10 people can be working on the wall at one time. If you can only come for part of a shift, no problem. If you are interested in helping, please contact Jeffrey Dumont, Community Engagement Director, at jeff@coverhomerepair.org.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
By supporting this project, you are celebrating our shared sense of community and hope, as well as the rich history of WRJ.
