The VFW of Winooski along with the RVA and City of Winooski are happy to announce that the Winooski Memorial Day Parade and Barbeque is back, on Saturday May 27th. The parade will kick off at the Winooski School at 12pm and continue down Main St. to the VFW, where we will hold a ceremony to honor all the veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
Following the ceremony, we will hold a free community barbeque in the parking lot of the VFW at 6 Maple St.
We are all excited to have this event back after 4 years and would like to encourage all our businesses, community groups, neighborhoods or anyone, to enter a float or march in the parade. This is a great way to be seen in Winooski and to make this parade grow bigger! If you are interested in being in the parade, I have an application to fill out so we can do our lineup please send me an email.
We are also looking for volunteers to help thru out the day starting at 10am, just show up and find me or ask any VFW member where you can help out.
