Back again is the Annual Ducky Race in Fairfax. Scheduled for Saturday June 10th at 2 PM, during our first ever Kids Day event, tickets are on sale now (businesses where you can purchase tickets are listed below). One ticket is $4, 6 tickets for $20. First place duck gets $300, second place duck gets $200, third place duck gets $100. Online tickets will be available soon.

New this year! The Golden Duck......You will be able to find the Golden Duck around town, making home at any one of our local businesses (that are selling tickets) for a few days at a time. Follow us on Facebook to see where the Golden Duck will be. To be entered into the drawing for a FREE DUCK TICKET all you have to do is take a picture of the Golden Duck, where it is, and submit it either to our social media pages or email it to recreation@fairfax-vt.gov.

For those unaware of how the Ducky Race works - After tickets are finished being sold ( we will have one last option to buy tickets at the Kids Day event happening at the same time as the Ducky Race), we will take all of our ducks to the bridge by Steeples Market and dump them into the Lamoille River. They will travel a short way down the river, where spectators can watch along the rivers edge at the Fairfax Community Park. We will have a finish line, with volunteers to help collect ducks, and the first 3 to pass the finish line will win their respective prizes.

Proceeds go towards the restoration of the Fairfax Community Center.
