Rochester Library's Guardians of the Earth

Past event
May 20, 2023, 9:30 to 11 AM

Guardians of the Earth, Rochester Library's new program focusing on how to change climate change, continues this month with explorations of responsible consumption. What does that mean? How do we do it? We'll need YOUR brain power and creativity to figure out ways to stop buying so much and to stop making so much trash! Join us to brainstorm, invent, and create! We'll make paper, create machines, build towers, and make toys–all from trash!

Please note: in the interests of consuming less, I'll be asking families to bring along some supplies! If possible, please bring used paper: printer, newspaper, junk mail, wrapping paper; no staples! Please also bring any recyclables you may have that are clean, non-breakable, not sharp, and interesting!

Also new: the Kids' Swap Spot! This is my favorite way to recycle. Do you have clothes that are too small? Books you don't read? Toys you are tired of? Bring them to our Swap Spot! Leave what you don't need, take what you do. A few rules: items in really good and clean condition only. Don't bring a lot, just one or two items.

We'll meet on the park on Saturday, May 20th, from 9:30 - 11. Please call or email to sign up! 767-3927 or rochestervtlibechildren@gmail.com.
