The Civic Standard presents the first performance in their "Take a Chance Series", which features world-class touring performers in intimate and unlikely local venues. David Dondero will present a solo concert at the East Hardwick Grange on Friday, May 19th at 7pm. The evening will include Bryce Clifford on the piano as the opening act, and the Civic will provide delightful refreshments. The event is "pay what you want" but reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited: thecivicstandard@gmail.com.
David Dondero, an American troubadour, has been touring for thirty years and his music has taken him around the world multiple times. His style and ongoing narratives are hard to fit into a particular genre. The music is inspired by heartbreak, hopefulness, everyday work and his never ending tour of life. Dondero's lyrics are influenced by the angst of Black Flag, the wanderlust of Bruce Springsteen, the sentimentality of Paul Simon and the politics of Woody Guthrie. David was listed by NPR as one of the top ten greatest living songwriters. He has recorded ten albums and his 11th is slated to come out on Fluff and Gravy Records this summer.
