Join us on Saturday, May 13th at 10am in the Starksboro Town Forest for a chance to visit an active beaver pond with Starksboro's resident beaver believer, Jennifer Lovett. We'll get up close (maybe not too personal) with a lodge, hear about beavers' natural history, and learn about the ecological importance of these animals—especially in our changing climate. Plus, it's just a beautiful spot!
Getting there does require a 15-minute walk on a woods road. Along the way, guides will identify birds, wildflowers, trees and many other features of this place. Families are particularly encouraged.
Please rsvp to Robert Turner (rjtco@gmavt.net). We'll gather at the bottom of Hillsboro Road and carpool to the town forest from there. Plan on a couple of hours.
This walk is being hosted by the Starksboro Public Library and the Starksboro conservation commission.
