With a mission to empower individuals with disabilities by building community, confidence, and skills through sport, recreation, and adventure, Adaptive Sports Partners is excited to be a part of SpringFest 2023.
A nonprofit organization based in Franconia, New Hampshire, Adaptive Sports Partners aids in reducing barriers and enabling individuals with differences in physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral functioning to experience and thrive through recreation in the great outdoors. Over the last year, Adaptive Sports Partners expanded into the NEK by offering adaptive ski lessons at Burke Mountain and Jay Peak, adaptive swim lessons at St. Johnsbury Academy, and more. Now, in collaboration with the Hardwick Recreation Committee and the Hardwick Trails Committee, Adaptive Sports Partners will be offering adaptive bike opportunities in Hardwick this summer!
Interested in participating, but not sure if adaptive biking or other adaptive sports are right for you or your loved one? Then, visit the Adaptive Sports Partners booth at Atkins Field during SpringFest! Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. Also, with a variety of two-wheeled bicycles, three-wheeled recumbents, adaptive children's bikes and handcycles, tandems, and an e-trike on-site, you can try out the equipment and find which bike is perfectly adapted to you!
Interested in volunteering with the athletes in the area? Visit the Adaptive Sports Partners website (www.adaptivesportspartners.org) to complete the Volunteer Registration and get started. No prior experience with adaptive sports or disabilities needed.
