The Starksboro Conservation Commission is hosting an event on Saturday, May 20 from 12 noon - 2pm. We will begin at the pavilion at Cota Field for a lunch made partly with wild edibles and invasive plants. If you can, please bring a dish to share. Also a plate, utensil and cup. We will have a short program of speakers while we eat, explaining recent activity at the conserved land and honoring those who have helped out over the years. You know who you are - please do join us! We appreciate all you have done!
After lunch activities will include an inauguration of the Herb Trail, a demonstration of how to remove buckthorn, Japanese honeysuckle, and poison parsnip, and a walk along the length of the Creekside Trail.
Contact Margi if you'd like some help with a recipe for wild and/or invasive edibles.
Families are welcome. Please come prepared to stay safe from ticks.
