Happy Arbor Day! Plant lots of trees - shrubs count, too! National Arbor Day was last Friday and Vermont Arbor Day is this Friday, May 5th. Other states and countries may observe Arbor Day at other times depending upon the best season for planting trees - all in celebration of the many gifts trees share with us.
The Huntington Public Library has Arbor Day activities - tree and nature scavenger hunts and tree craft ideas - look for them on the table in the entry way. When you visit, please add your thoughts to the "Reciprocity Tree" on the bulletin board. And, be sure to pick up a little bag of Red Oak acorns to plant - while they last!
You will also have a chance to check out books from our fine collection of Tree Books for enjoying, learning and inspiring - children's picture and non-fiction books and fabulous adult (mostly) non-fiction. Any questions? hpl@gmavt.net or 434-4583.
