Stowe Performing Arts kicks off the 2023 season with the Noon Music in May concerts on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. The shows are held from noon to 1 p.m. in Stowe Community Church and are free and open to the public.
The series opens with Low Lily, a trio of multi-instrumentalists chosen as Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's "Most Wanted Band" of 2016. With a vocal blend dubbed "outstanding" and "meticulous," Low Lily has crafted a signature sound shared with enthusiastic audiences throughout North America and the UK, garnering two #1 songs on international folk radio and two Independent Music Award wins.
Low Lily plays acoustic music deeply rooted in tradition yet sounds refreshingly contemporary. In the past six years, the band released a full-length album with the award-winning title track "10,000 Days Like These" and their original song "Hope Lingers On," sung by choirs worldwide as an anthem for peace and justice.
Noon Music in May is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Family of Irene Bareau, a long-time friend of Stowe Performing Arts, and is hosted by Stowe Community Church. While the concerts are presented free of charge, donations are greatly appreciated.
