An Embarrassing Moment

... is sure to occur when Bridgeside Books - bridgesidebooks.com - hosts a groundbreaking (and hopefully not glass-breaking) FREE event tomorrow night from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM at The Local, the hip new wine store in the Red Hen Bakery complex where I'll discuss WE LOVE TO ENTERTAIN, my latest paperback thriller of no literary value whatsoever recently published by HarperCollins.

And if that's not enough to get you down here on a showery Wednesday evening, consider this: free wine (while supplies last) + cheese puffs. (Though they may suck, I dunno. Then again, how bad can they be with that much cheese & butter, except for your heart? But I digress.) This is my 19th book and 1st set in Vermont in a town that - according to wording drafted by my legal counsel - "may or may not be inspired by my 10-year stint as elected Middlesex Town Clerk." Let's just say this: when I was on book tour last week, I was able to dumbfound attendees with stories of our runaway goat AND pig (remember Lucky?) and a Vermont lister (not in our town!) who stumbled upon a dentist with an interesting, er, playroom. Apparently, other communities are not familiar with AWOL farm animals, mud roads and appraisers we willingly vote to snoop around our houses. Go figure!

So please join us for a fun and lubricated hour of banter. And don't forget to check out The Local's lovely wine collection. Also beer.

Finally, it's always good to support your local, independent bookstore such as Bridgeside in Waterbury. They make the world a much better place.

Thank you for your consideration, Sarah Strohmeyer (Merriman) - sarahstrohmeyer.com
