The Starksboro Volunteer Fire Department would like to invite all community members to attend an open house at our station in the village on Saturday, May 13 from 9am to 1pm.
Whether or not you are interested in becoming a member of our volunteer fire department we would love to have you join us for firefighting and fire safety demonstrations. We will have our trucks available to community members of any age to see and experience, gear and tools to explore, and hot dogs on the grill!
If you are interested in joining the department we will have applications available and several current firefighters present to share their experiences and answer any questions.
A tentative schedule of the demonstrations is as follows:
9:00 Fire Extinguisher Use
10:00 Hose Handling
11:00 Vehicle Extrication
12:00 How Fire Flows and Home Safety using a small model home
