We know there are a few grammar edits that need correction and that the electric substations icon is not correct on several maps...these can only be changed at the Selectboard warned Monday, May 22nd public meeting about the Town Plan. That does not stop you from helping the Planning Commission locate other edits that should be corrected. We have already started compiling a list that will be part of the Selectboard's May 22nd meeting. The Planning Commission would really appreciate your feedback on the content, too. Please provide your comments now so there is sufficient time to consider possible thoughtful changes.

We urge you to familiarize yourself with this document because you have the opportunity to share your thoughts about it beginning at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission on Wednesday, May3rd at 6:00 PM at the Town Office.

Hard copies are available for your review at the Town Office and the Worthen Library.

Voters will vote by Australian ballot on Tuesday, August 1st. Call the Town Clerk's office to get your absentee ballot if you plan to be out of Town. Every vote counts! There are consequences if the Town's current 2015 Town Plan expires (Aug 10) and we do not have a 2023-2031 Town Plan approved by voters. The most import issues:
1 The Town cannot amend or adopt zoning bylaws.  (Existing zoning stays effective and does not expire, but no amendments can be made).
2 The Town is not eligible to apply for Municipal Planning Grants (MPG) or Vermont Community Development Program (VCDP) grants.  The grant deadline for MPGs is in September, so South Hero would not be eligible in 2023.  It does not impact grants that have already been awarded.
