BROOKLINE GREEN UP DAY – Saturday, May 6th

Green Up Day is this coming Saturday!

Green Up Day trash bags (free as always) are available at the Town Office and next Saturday as follows:

• Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and
• Saturday May 6th from 9:00 am to noon.

Coffee and snacks will be available at the Office on Saturday morning.

Green Up Day Coordinators will also be at the Town Office on Saturday morning with the town map to track what road sections have been claimed by volunteers and what sections still need volunteers – stop by if you are looking for a road assignment.

Also, you don't have to wait until this Saturday to begin, just let us know (via email) which road and road section you will be covering.

If you want to pick up a bag when the Town Office is closed, please call one of us (see below) and we will make other arrangements for you to pick up the trash bags.

You can leave the Green Up Day trash bags in a visible location by the side of the road or at the end of the road. Or you can drop off the bags at the Town Office between 9 am and noon on Saturday.

And please stay safe. The ticks are out! Be careful when picking up broken glass and other sharp objects. If you find needles, the best practice is to wear gloves, use a tool to pick them up, place them in a thick plastic container that has been labelled "Do Not Recycle", tape the top shut, and throw them away in the regular trash.

And if you are inclined, you may also separate returnables and items for recycling such as:
• paper – clean and dry, and
• containers (metal, glass, & #1 & #2 plastic) – empty and clean.

Thank you!
