Join Slate Valley Trails and the Rutland County Audubon Society for weekly bird walks in the Poultney area, on the trails of the SVT system, Tuesdays at 7:30 am. All levels of birding experience are welcome. Bring water and a snack, binoculars, cameras, or field guides, if you have them. The walks are at a slow pace with lots of opportunities for observing & photographing: 3 to 4 miles, 3 to 4 hours.
Contact Joel Tilley for more information (reservations are not necessary): jptilley50@gmail.com (preferred method), or 802-598-2583, evenings 7 to 8pm.
The next walk is Tuesday, May 2 – Poultney River Loop. Meet at the D&H Trail crossing on Main Street, Poultney, at 7:30 am. For this outing we will walk the SVT Poultney River Loop (3.5 miles, Easy terrain). Expect to be out for about 3-1/2 hours. The forecast is for rain. Unless it's a downpour, we will go ahead. There are some wet & grassy spots, so rubber boots would be good.
