A Concert with Annie Patterson & Peter Blood
Love's Gonna Carry Us
Songs of JOY, RESILIENCE, and JUSTICE
We are fortunate to host Annie Patterson and Peter Blood who are returning to Middlebury on May 5 for another community sing-along concert.
Annie and Peter are two of the country's leading folk music activists. In these challenging times they bring inspiration, love and hope through their music. Pete Seeger worked closely with them on their two song collections, Rise Up Singing and Rise Again. Seeger said that Rise Up Singing "has made a qualitative difference in singing in America."
Come join us – sing along or listen. If people have copies of one or both songbooks, they are encouraged to bring them to the concert. Copies of the songbooks will also be available to buy or borrow during the concert.
When: Friday, May 5th, at 7:00 pm
Where: Middlebury United Methodist Church, 43 N. Pleasant St.
This concert/sing-along is a benefit for Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects (HOPE), a nonprofit that has been helping low income people in Addison County since 1965 to identify and secure the resources needed for basic survival like food, housing, and utilities. Additional free-will offerings are gratefully accepted at the concert. You may bring non-perishable food for HOPE's food shelf as well.
Masking is strongly recommended.
