Join us on April 29th for TWO dance opportunities! It will happen, as usual, at the Capital City Grange Hall, 6612 VT-12, Berlin VT 05602, just one mile south of Montpelier, from 8-11 PM, with an instruction/refresher session starting about 7:40, with dancing from 8:00 to 11:00. If that's not enough, you are also welcome to come to a FREE afternoon dance, sponsored by Aaron Marcus and Sam Sanders, from 2:30 to 5:30!
Chris Ricciotti will be the caller, teaching and calling both dances, with music by "Aaron Marcus and Friends" in the afternoon, and by "The Turning Stile +" for the evening dance. Musicians from Aaron's wide circle of collaborators and friends will enliven the afternoon. The evening band features Aaron (on piano, concertina and banjo) with Joanne Garton on fiddle and McKinley James on cello. Great music and dancing are guaranteed.
We always love to have new folks join us! If you haven't been to a contra dance, check out the videos of folks dancing in the Grange Hall at: http://capitalcitygrange.org/dancing/contradancing/. You'll also see our COVID protocols--we require good masks: N95, KN95/KF94 or medical/surgical masks. Please bring your own, we'll have a few extras if needed. If you feel sick, please stay away and join us at our next dance. The same protocols apply for the afternoon dance.
Evening dance admission prices: $12 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income folks, or be a "dance supporter" and give us $20, to help us pay the wonderful callers, musicians and sound techs for the great work they do. Choose what price matches your resources. We're happy to have everyone who comes, whatever you pay! And as noted above, the afternoon dance is free.
