Parade Safety - CWLL Event

Past event
Apr 29, 2023, 1 to 2 PM

Greetings!

SAFETY IS KEY: It takes a lot of effort, time and support to put together events where people and traffic are in the same location.

CWLL will be putting on a little league opening day parade for one of the most important assets we have. Our Children! Memories will be made and smiles will be everywhere while we thank the many volunteers and sponsors that have made the 2023 season possible.

Parade route will start from the Dac Rowe field facility and go south to Park Row drive starting at 1pm.

CWLL Volunteers will be conducting traffic control as well as managing temporary closures to some key streets. Main street will be closed to traffic for the duration of the parade. Detours will be provided by using union street, railroad and pilgrim park roads to bypass main and get beyond Rusty Parker park going south. North on main will be diverted up the same route to get you to north main traffic circle. Other side streets onto main will be re-opened as parade passes to eliminate any back up and allow open access to emergency services. Each member of the traffic control team will provide information at their post. CWLL would also like to thank the Waterbury select board for working on this event with us, Waterbury fire department for helping with traffic control, Waterbury recreational department for volunteering traffic control , Waterbury highway crew for providing cones and signs, Vermont state police for providing us a lead car for the event as well as Steve Harrington and his team from E&S Transport for donating two flat bed wreckers to protect from the rear of the parade with lights.

I encourage everyone to come out and support event while patient and understanding of the detours and temporary closures.
thank you!

Scott Culver
CWLL league president
