Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio: The delicious world of new CVCR programs, plus a powerful play at Lost Nation Theater.
9:00 - 10:00 am
Central Vermont Community Radio is welcoming a host of new and returning programmers to the station, and Relocalizing Vermont will welcome Rebecca Beidler, host of Kitchen Permaculture, one of many shows rotating in the Saturday 9 am slot. Rebecca farms at Peace of Earth Farm in Albany Vermont, and has a long background with producing, preparing, and eating food.
This is the final weekend of a powerful play at Lost Nation Theater in Montpelier, billed as in a similar spirit as Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot and Spike Lee's film Do the Right Thing. The play Pass Over features the Black characters Moses and Kitch, stuck in the ghetto. Periodically ducking bullets and managing visits from a genial but ominous stranger and an aggresive police officer, Moses and Kitch rely on their banter and humor to get them through a day that seems a hopeless retread of every other day, even as they continue to dream of finding their promised land. We'll be joined by Kathleen Keenan and/or Kim Bent, artistic co-directors of Lost Nation Theater, plus Shanda Williams, who has been helping theater-goers process their feelings after the play.
