The Waterbury Historical Society invites you to join us for our spring program on Wednesday, April 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the Steele Community Room. Hear the dark and tragic story of nine-year-old Alice Meaker, whose stormy childhood and violent death take us from a farm in Duxbury to a remote section of Little River Road in the year 1880.
Presenters Don Welch and Skip Flanders will share how this horrific crime was committed, investigated, and ultimately solved - leading to the first legal execution of a woman by the state of Vermont.
All WHS programs are family-friendly, free, and open to the public. WHS is a volunteer-run non-profit organization supported by membership and the generous donations of the community.
