Welcome Return of VT Philharmonic to Chandler

Past event
Apr 29, 2023, 7:30 to 9:30 PM

If you, like me, have missed the gorgeous sound of the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra performing on the stage of Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, you are in for a treat next Saturday evening 4/29. The orchestra, made up of our friends and neighbors who play for their love of music, is returning with a program of romantic compositions from 19th-century German composers.

In the first half of the program are three well-known shorter pieces: Englebert Humperdinck's Prelude to Hansel & Gretel, Jacques Offenbach's Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld, and from Lohengrin by Richard Wagner Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral. In the second half, the orchestra's lush big sound will be heard in Robert Schumann's Rhenish Symphony, Symphony No. 3 in E flat, Opus 97.

Tickets can be purchased at www.chandler-arts.org or (802) 728-9878, and at the door.
