The Green Mountain Writers Group (GMWG) will host the 1st Annual Vermont Poetry Festival in Underhill Center at the Historic District 5 Schoolhouse on Sunday May 30 from 10 AM 'til 4 PM.
In the morning, we'll begin with a Browns River meditation followed by a poetry writing and reading session outdoors at Camp Sit 'n Bull on Stevensville Rd. (weather permitting). Otherwise, we will gather across the road inside the schoolhouse. At Noon, we will break for a potluck session and barbecue over a cooking fire on the deck at the Camp.
At 1 PM, Vermont poet Jerry Johnson will lead off and moderate a poetry reading for our published authors followed by an open mic at the schoolhouse until 4 pm. Our new publication, "Poetry & Performance - Volume 1" featuring 25 contributing poet members of the GMWG will be available for purchase and may be signed by the authors including workshop host Darlene Witte. Any poets or authors who wish to display and sell their books or share information are invited to do so at the vendor's tables in the schoolhouse.
