Pleasant Valley residents, present and past (or anyone with an affinity for the place) are cordially invited to the 86th Annual Pleasant Valley Picnic Sunday, August 3rd at noon at 3308 Lower Pleasant Valley Road. Kindly proceed through the yard to the meadow in back where there's plenty of parking. Bring a chair, a dish to share, eating utensils, a used book to swap (if you please), and a beverage of choice. Rain date is the first Sunday in August 2015 at noon (har, har!).

The Picnic is what remains of the efforts of the Valley Workers, those farm women who amassed to raise much needed money for the Cambridge United Church after the devastating '27 Flood. The Workers would hold monthly suppers—10 cents a head—at farms throughout the Valley. While the Picnic is free, the tradition continues!
