Green Up Day - May 6

Past event
May 6, 2023

This year Green Up Day is Saturday May 6th. Bags for Underhill residents are now available at Wells Corner Market, Jacobs Family Market, and here at the Underhill Town Hall. Volunteers are welcome to start cleanup early and bring their bags to the Underhill Town Garage located at 75 New Road on Saturday May 6th between the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We will accept all trash collected from the edges of Town Highways.

Between 10:00 and 1:00 PM the Underhill Conservation Commission (UCC) will be on hand providing educational information and pamphlets about ticks and diseases spread by tick bites, invasive species, black bears, the Crane Brook Conservation District (CBCD) trails, and forests. The Natural Resources Inventory & Mapping Committee will demonstrate how to measure trees, the identification of tree species, and the biggest trees from the 2022 contest. UCC will give guided tours of the CBCD trails. Other activities are planned as well. All are welcome to join us!

There will be an open house at the Town Garage complete with hamburgers and hot dogs and light refreshments (between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM) to enjoy after a hard day's work cleaning up our roadsides.

Please be safe out there and take a moment to review the State of Vermont's guidance at https://greenupvermont.org/
