Front member Delia Robinson: Crankies, for anyone who doesn't know, are "preindustrial devices for viewing long scrolls to accompany a story or ballad," and a lot of fun. Now, they're coming to The Front, on Thursday 4/27 at 7 PM. The evening's program includes:
-God's Gonna Ride the Wind and the Tide, a folk song version of the story of Noah;
-Pretty Polly, said to be "the queen of American murder ballads."
This event is part of our effort to ease a cash-flow pinch this spring; suggested donation $10 per person at the gallery.
Contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated. The Front is a Low-Profit Limited Liability Company (L3C), so please note that donations are NOT tax deductible. You can contribute via PayPal on our website at https://thefrontvt.com/visit; Venmo @gallerythefront; or send a check to The Front, 6 Barre St., Montpelier, VT 05602. Thanks very much!
