Celebrate National Poetry Month and William Shakespeare's birthday at at the Adamant Community Club with a Sonnet Circle, hosted by Mary Elder Jacobsen. As part of Montpelier's PoemCity celebration, Mary will read her poetry, including sonnets and sonnet-inspired poems. Following her reading, join Mary in a Sonnet Circle, a collective reading where we'll take turns readings sonnets. Bring a favorite sonnet, written by you or anyone. Mary will have a number of sonnets on hand for you to choose from, as well. And at 12-2 that Sunday, right before the Circle, poets are invited to come and record your original poem or sonnet in your own voice. With simple digital recording equipment, Rick Agran, host and producer of WGDR's Bon Mot will capture your poem for posterity. Young voices are welcomed and encouraged.
