Across Roads Center for the Arts invites the community to the closing reception of Leading Art Forward: A community exhibition of art created in the Harwood Unified Union School District, on April 15, 2-4pm @ Grange Hall Cultural Center in Waterbury Center. The 2023 academic scholarship grant will be awarded and a silent auction benefiting the 2024 grant season will be displayed for live bidding before closing. The auction is also offered online for those who cannot attend.

Across Roads Center for the Arts is delighted to hold the closing event, Leading Art Forward, a community art exhibition of student work, created under the skillful guidance of art teachers at the Harwood Unified Union School District. This eclectic and striking body of two and three dimensional creation was curated by ARCA board members and displayed in the upstairs Hall at the Grange Hall Cultural Center, 317 Howard Avenue, Waterbury Center, starting March 18, and closing on April 15.

A closing celebration of the works, the presentation of the 2023 scholarship winner, and a silent auction to benefit the 2024 grant season will take place. The silent auction will be available until 3:30pm online and in person at the event. The public is welcome to bid regardless of being able to attend the event.

The Mitch Siegel Emerging Artist Award continues the WACC tradition of granting monies annually to a graduating high school senior pursuing the arts beyond Harwood Union. Students must submit an application sharing this pursuit, with examples of their work, an explanation of their artistic process and philosophy, their creative goals, and their plans to reach those goals. Emerging artists in all mediums (visual, performance, digital, etc) will be considered.
