Protecting Half of Earth for All Life

Past event
Apr 25, 2023, 5:30 to 6:30 PM

Tuesday April 25, 5:30-6:30 PM:

Join Northeast Wilderness Trust and Dennis Liu of the Half-Earth Project to learn about an ambitious and hopeful goal for global conservation, inspired by E.O. Wilson's call to protect half of our precious planet for the rest of nature. Half-Earth's goal of 50% is not reachable in the US through state and federal action alone. Conservation by non-profits, NGOs, and individuals—including the forever-wild lands Northeast Wilderness Trust protects—is needed. Dennis will feature stories of charismatic creatures like hummingbirds and dragonflies, and discuss how protecting one species often benefits others. He'll also talk about what each of us can do as individuals and as communities to support all of the miraculous species we love and need.
