A Climate Conversation on Earth Day
Do you have questions? We have questions and maybe some answers about climate change. Join Climate Advocates Bennington and the Bennington Energy Committee at the Bennington Free Library on Earth Day, April 22 at 2 pm for a Climate Conversation about climate change and energy use in the Bennington area.
Climate change is often discussed at the global and national levels. The State of Vermont has set goals for green house gas emissions and the Assembly is working on the issue during this session and probably in every session to come. Our conversation will focus primarily on Bennington and the surrounding area. What issues and problems do we face at this local level? How can we address them? What has already been accomplished? We will address these questions at the Climate Conversation with the help of a panel of knowledgeable people.
The panel consist of Paul Dansereau is the Director of Facilities and Buildings for the Town of Bennington. Jim Sullivan is newly retired from his long time service as Executive Director of Bennington County Regional Commission. Callie Fishburn is a Regional Planner for Energy at BCRC. Bill Karis chairs the Town of Bennington Energy Committee. These people will share their knowledge of how the Bennington area is dealing with problems and issues of climate change in the context of the use of energy
They will also discuss how the Bennington area fits into the larger picture of State of Vermont requirements and opportunities from recent national legislation.
Your questions, concerns, ideas will be essential to the discussion as we think about the future of our community.
