All are welcome! Stop by just for a minute or take some time to help beautify the park.
FREE activities include:
- lunch
- community art activity focused on the neighborhood
- speaking engagement featuring several local stakeholders
- guided park clean-up & garden bed rehab
(tools provided; more are welcome!)
- speaking engagement featuring several local stakeholders
- time and space to meet your neighbors!
If you're not able to join us next week, we'll surely miss you. However, don't dismay! This event is part of a process of bringing positive activity to the Champlain Street Park over the coming year with the hope that even small acts can lead to a stronger, safer, and more connected King/Maple neighborhood. For our neighbors fasting; Ramadan Mubarak! While we can't share a meal together on the 19th, there will be chances to eat together in the park in the future.
I hope you will join me and others who have made the choice to be the positive change we want to see in this city. You may have noticed that the park has seen some major improvements in the last year - if not, take a walk by and see how far Champlain St Park has already come.
This event is made possible by the sponsorship of several local organizations in collaboration with residents of the neighborhood. Sponsors include the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO), Burlington Office of REIB, BCA Community Fund, Burlington Parks & Recreation Dept., and neighbors like you who have given a little bit of their time for our little park!
Feel free to reach out via email if you have any questions - otherwise see you in the park!
