Northern Vermont University invites the public to the Lyndon campus for an evening with Ken Ilgunas, adventurer and author of "This Land Is Our Land: How We Lost the Right to Roam and How to Take it Back."
Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
In the Moore Community Room on the NVU-Lyndon campus
Free and open to the public
Ilgunas will talk about his 1,700-mile trek across the Great Plains and how it inspired him to call for an American "right to roam." Inspired by the U.S. history of roaming and taking guidance from present-day Europe, Ilgunas calls into question our entrenched understanding of private property and proposes something unheard of: opening up American private property for public recreation.
The program is brought to you by NVU's Outdoor Education, Leadership, and Tourism department and NVU Lecture and Arts.
