The League of Women Voters of Vermont (LWVVT), an advocate for ranked choice voting (RCV) in Vermont, is sponsoring two free virtual programs on ranked choice voting on Monday, April 17, at 7 PM and repeating Tuesday, April 18, at 3:30 PM.
As the Legislature is considering a bill to establish ranked choice voting for the 2028 presidential primary election in Vermont, Dr. Betty Keller of LWVVT will familiarize Vermonters with this new-to-Vermont electoral voting method. The program will be educational, providing time for discussion and questions. The presentations will cover:
7 PM How does Ranked Choice Voting work? (3:30 on April 18)
7:30 PM Why RCV for Presidential Primaries? (4 PM on April 18) and
8 PM What is in S.32, the current Vermont bill on RCV? (4:30 on April 18)
We will start each topic at its scheduled time, so people can choose which portions to attend.
Following registration, you will receive an online ballot to a mock election to help you understand, in a fun, interactive way how RCV works, and gain confidence about the process moving forward.
