The Annual Duct Tape Regatta returns to City Bay, North Hero Village on Saturday, August 2.
Open Registration and inspection begins at 9 am in front of the North Hero Community Hall. First race is at 10 am. The $25 fee per boat goes towards the renovation of the hall.
Rowers must be 8 or over, and must be wearing life preservers. The whole family can join in the boat construction! Great Family Fun! Make a boat of any size or shape, using just two (…and we mean ONLY two) components: Duct Tape and Cardboard. Boats can be raced by any number of rowers.

Rules: No staples, no glue, no nuthin’ except Duct Tape and Cardboard!
Boats may be of any design or length. Oars or paddles can be single or twin-bladed and made from any material. Oars may not be attached to the boat. All racers must be 8 or older and must be wearing life jackets. Race Heats include Age 8-15 Singles, 16 and over Singles, 8-15 Doubles, 16 and older Doubles, 8-15 Crazy Crews of 3 or more, 16 and over Crazy Crews of 3 or more. A new unofficial heat will be created for kids under 8, who may also row the course, with parents walking the boat through the water.
The race course is approximately 600 feet from the North Hero House Beach to the Hero’s Welcome Dock. Prizes and High Honors to the winners! Awards given for Fastest Boats, Best Designs, Biggest Wipeouts, Champion Future Rowers, etc.
