2023 Spring & Summer Film Series at Stone Valley Arts

Stone Valley Arts would like to announce the movies selected for the 2023 Spring and Summer Film Series at SVA!

All films will be screened at SVA located at 145 East Main Street Poultney VT,
All film screenings are free and open to the public. A discussion will follow each film.

Friday April 14th at 7pm Language Lessons (2021)
A Spanish teacher and her student develop an unexpected friendship. ... Staring Mark Dupree, Natalie Morales & Desean Terry. Directed by Natalie Morales. (Drama, comedy)

Friday May 5th at 7pm Float Like a Butterfly (2020)
Fifteen-year-old Frances fights for her humble Irish community by becoming a boxer like her idol, Muhammad Ali. (Drama)

Sunday May 21 at 3pm The Farewell (2019) (In Chinese with English subtilties'.)
A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short time left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a fake wedding to gather friends and family before she dies. Golden Globe award winner, directed by Lulu Wang. (Drama, comedy)

Friday June 2nd at 7pm Thunder Road (2018)
Officer Jim Arnaud struggles with being a single dad and police officer. After losing his mother, he vows to become a better father to his daughter. Written & directed by Jim Cummings (Drama)

Sunday June 25th at 3pm Pinocchio (2020)
Old woodcarver Gepetto's puppet creation, Pinocchio, magically comes to life with dreams of becoming a real boy. Easily led astray, Pinocchio tumbles from one misadventure to another as her is tricked and chased by bandits. (Animated, family friendly)

Friday July 7th at 7pm Dating Amber (2020)
Set in Ireland in the mid 90's two school friends decide to start a pretend straight relationship in an effort to fit in. Written and directed by David Freyne. (Drama, comedy)

Sunday July 16th at 3pm The Florida Project ( 2017)
Set over one summer, the film follows a six-year-old girl and her ragtag playmates living in a cheap motel in the shadows of Walt Disney World. Starring William Dafoe. (Drama)
