The Living Well Discussion Group, co-hosted by SafeArt and the Chelsea Public Library, will pause *discussing* in April and will instead enjoy a film screening! Join us on April 17th from 5-7:30 pm in Chelsea Town Hall for a showing of "A Man Called Otto." Based on a Frederik Backman bestseller, this movie highlights issues of grief/loss, suicide, community, and the power of friendship. It is, ultimately, a heart-warming tale on what makes life worth living--and living well.
A Man Called Otto (PG-13) film synopsis: "Otto is a grump who's given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol, leading to a friendship that will turn his world around."
Next month, we'll return to a book club format! The discussion topic will be psychedelics and medicine, and it couldn't be more relevant & fascinating! We'll be reading Michael Pollan's "How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence." Contact the library for alternative resources on the topic in varying formats (e.g. podcast episode, article, short video, etc.). All are welcome to join us on May 15th!
