PLOTS NOW AVAILABLE FOR MANCHESTER COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Manchester Community Garden is taking reservations for the 2023 season. The garden is situated in the Dana L Thompson Memorial Park, Rec Park Road, Manchester Center, beyond the skateboard park and Rod & Gun Club.
The garden offers individual plots, as well as common areas for enjoyment. There is a picnic table with an umbrella, plus a central faucet, sink, and attached hoses. Garden tools, from shovels and rakes to wheelbarrows, are available for gardeners to use. Also provided are shredded leaves and wood chips for mulch and walkways; and some organic fertilizers. No synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides are allowed, and organic garden practices are followed.
All gardeners from the inexperienced to the master are welcome. Should you not want a plot of your own, you can still enjoy a gardening experience helping with upkeep of common areas, by planting, weeding, beautifying, harvesting and the many other tasks that make a garden and gardening pleasurable.
To make arrangements to see the garden and choose a plot, contact Letitia at 1 (917) 596 5172.
On April 29 (April 30 rain date) starting at 10 am, there will be an all-garden meeting to start the season. Come check us out!
