Middlebury College Theatre, Dance, Music, and Studio Art Departments Present an Interdisciplinary Event: New Directions Spring Arts Festival
Local Audiences can see 5 experimental performances over the course of one "loop" as we ignite the Mahaney Arts Center with a festival that uses the entire complex.
Created by Michole Biancosino (Theatre), Laurel Jenkins (Dance), Michelle Leftheris (Studio Art), and Dr. Matthew Evan Taylor (Music)
Middlebury, VT— New Directions Spring Arts Festival will feature work of Middlebury College junior arts faculty who will share their professional arts practice with local audiences in this day-long event. Audiences can join an afternoon or evening "loop" and move throughout each of the spaces in the Mahaney Arts Center, following a journey from one arts event to the next. This is an incredible opportunity to see experimental, genre-bending works that defy the traditional boundaries between arts disciplines. These 5 new pieces have been developed over time and are slated to travel to other venues and cities including New York City, but they are being brought to Middlebury for this unique festival as Middlebury Arts Faculty share their work with the campus and the greater Vermont community.
There is also a Student Faculty Happening on April 14th at 7:30pm .
All events are FREE and open to the public! Come for 1 or all 6 of them!
