PLANT SALE! Last chance to place your order - ORDERS DUE APR 14. Fundraiser for the Orleans County Conservation District. Planting along streams, rivers, and shorelands can help prevent soil erosion on your property. Erosion can lead to the build up of nutrients and phosphorus in waterways, degrading water quality. You can take care of your land and support the Orleans County Conservation District with your purchase of native and wetland plants, fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, evergreens, and other plants during its annual plant sale.
Plant supplies are limited and sold by pre-orders, due Friday, Apr 14. Place your order on the OCNRCD website at www.vacd.org/conservation-districts/orleans-county/. You must pick up your order on Saturday, May 6th, at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Barton, 9am-noon.
New varieties available this year include: Indian currant, American plum, Blake's pear, horseradish and TROUT! Customers can purchase rainbow and brook trout for stocking private ponds.
