Hi all,

Whew! It's been a busy winter. I'm reaching out to let you know about a tree identification event that I'll be doing tomorrow, the last event on my 2023 slate of winter events (details below). Stay tuned for more events coming up this spring and summer.

I was fortunate to get to travel to New Jersey last weekend to give a keynote address for the New Jersey Forestry Association's annual conference. You can watch a full recording of my speech on my YouTube channel, here:

Winter Tree Identification
At CVU Access
Tuesday, March 28, 2023
5:30-7:30 PM
Many people rely on leaves to identify a tree, but after the brilliant display of fall colors, "stick season" can make tree identification a daunting task. Join Chittenden County Forester Ethan Tapper for a one-night course which will help participants learn to identify some of Vermont's most common trees by looking at their bark, buds, and other clues. This course will use outdoor and classroom instruction to teach participants to identify some of the most common trees in Vermont's forests.

This class will meet at CVU High School in Hinesburg. Please dress appropriately for being outside in whatever weather we find ourselves in!
