Posting for the Underhill Conservation Commission:
The Underhill Conservation Commission invites you to join their upcoming webinar on Jumping Worms. Jumping Worms have been found on a number of properties in our locale, and once in our rural yards, they can easily spread—damaging planting beds, gardens, our lawns, and ultimately and irreparably affecting our surrounding maple trees and forest ecology.
These voracious invaders may be inadvertently introduced into our yard via various mediums—mulch, compost, plant sharing with neighbors, purchased plants, and even landscaping/excavating equipment. Though the adults die in the winter, the many miniscule cocoons they have produced all summer survive and can hitchhike in a pot of dirt or on a rototiller.
Join our Go-To-Meeting webinar with UVM's Dr. Josef Gorres to learn more about Jumping Worms—how they affect us and what we can do.
